No widgets
The "No widgets" option of the ReadyNative Expo template: no app extension, widgets.update() is a no-op.
Expo Go: yes
Runs in Expo Go; no dev build needed for this module.
This is the no-op widgets option: no app extension, no App Group, no extra target to sign. It owns src/lib/widgets.ts as a re-export of the core shim, so @/lib/widgets keeps the same API - widgets.supported is false and widgets.update(...) does nothing.
Setup
bun run setup --widgets noneThere's nothing to configure. Switch with bun run setup --widgets expo-widgets when you want an iOS home-screen widget.
Usage
import { widgets } from "@/lib/widgets";
widgets.update({ title: "Almaty", value: "21°" }); // no-opGotchas
- Screens that already call
widgets.update()need no change when you switch to Expo Widgets later. - Nothing here needs a dev build; Expo Go is fine.
Reference
Everything below is generated from modules/widgets/none/module.json - the same file bun run setup reads, so it is what actually lands in your repo.
Install
bun run setup --widgets noneModule id: widgets/none.
